2018-11-09

According to the World Heritage Foundation's Russian branch website on July 3, the World Heritage Committee announced that Russia's Bijin Valley was included in the World Heritage List in the Sino-Hort Aran Mountain Heritage Site.

The Bijin River is located in the Far East of Russia and belongs to the right tributary of the Ussuri River. The valley is located about 100 kilometers north of the existing heritage site. The newly-entered area covers an area of over 11,000 square kilometers, which is three times that of the existing heritage sites. It includes southern Okhotsk dark coniferous forest and East Asian coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest. Animals living here include the South Manchurian coniferous forest belt species, as well as mammals such as Siberian tiger, Siberian elk, and black scorpion.
